SIP Features

SIP offers a number of features and benefits over and above ISDN.

Number Porting
Enabling the customer to port their numbers away form BT and other telephony operators, there are a number of different scenarios when this will be applicable:

• A company moving out of the exchange area, even if they install a new ISDN connection, it’s a cost effective and practical way to retain the numbers.
• A company which is closing down offices and want to retain the local numbers for local presence.

The numbers can be delivered anywhere in the world where there is an internet connection.

Number Provision
Voiceflex have their own number ranges provided by Ofcom, providing numbers anywhere in the UK along with most countries throughout the world.

A company can be based in Birmingham and be provided with a telephone number in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Paris. Fantastic for marketing, providing a local presence and a cost-effective option to explore potential markets in other countries.

Any owned number display
Customers are not confined within the telephone exchange area. They can send out any number they use as the CLI:

• ISDN DDI ranges
• 0844, 0845, 0870
• Any UK or international numbers provided by Voiceflex

A massive impact on the ability to market a company and its services, showing a local presence from anywhere in the world.

Disaster Recovery
Customers can have ISDN and SIP exchange lines, switching between the two as required during line failures.

• A mix of ISDN and SIP connections. Both inbound and outbound can be rerouted via either SIP or ISDN.
• Install two broadband connections. One of voice, the other for data or both for voice and data. If there is an issue with one connection the backup link automatically takes over.
• A customer with two offices can have the same SIP trunk licenses installed in both locations. If there is an issue at either site, the connected site would receive all calls.
