Financial Express is a data company which specialises in the collection, validation, dissemination and analysis of fund information. Financial Express had a problem experienced by any company relocating to new offices.
During an office move from their Central London office last year, Financial Express was forced to sacrifice its existing number range as it was connecting to a different exchange. This presented a particular problem as its sales team did not wish to lose any calls from clients who may have continued to call the existing 0207 number ranges. Since Financial Express was installing a new PBX (Aastra) it was able to take up SIP trunks from Voiceflex and port the old numbers to map directly to new DDIs.
Financial Express also took a range of London 0203 numbers that are used for its Chennai office in India. The numbers have been configured to map directly to the local DDIs thereby allowing it to present London numbers externally to clients and also for Financial Express to use internally when calling Chennai colleagues. This allows Financial Express to take advantage of the favourable rates on offer from Voiceflex; and to prevent UK based clients paying international rates when contacting the teams in India. Since deploying this solution, Financial Express is saving up to 75% in call charges to India and also the value of these numbers for use by their clients is unquantifiable!
“This transition occurred smoothly on the day of the move with no noticeable disruption and we continue to receive inbound calls on this service. The call quality was excellent when we connected the SIP trunks over our production BTNet fibre circuit, we were unable to get such a solution from BT as they could only offer diversion of ISDN 30 trunks in blocks of 10 DDIs meaning that 10 numbers would be diverted to one! The cost of this solution is negligible and fixed as we use it for inbound calls only, we also have the option to use it as backup should we ever get problems with our ISDN30 trunk.
Along with the cost savings the quality of calls to India is noticeably high and easily comparable to a direct call over a BT ISDN trunk - all feedback I received following deployment confirmed this so I am very satisfied with this particular service”.
